Following a simple ethos of creating Our interpretation of stylish & bespoke examples of the 1st Generation of 'Modern' MINI whilst extending their physical life.
Our brief is to create a similar process throughout the Builds consisting of  an HRRCC Handling Pack, wheel refurbish/upgrade, engine detail & enhancement, Interior design & refresh, Handcrafted components & vinyl package plus an undercarriage refurbish, upgrade, replacement of worn parts, preventative mechanical maintenance before sealing with & Waxoyl...

New brake calipers, pads, wheel bearings, speed sensors, drilled & grooved discs, track rod ends, ball joints, TA Technix adjustable coilovers & 15mm centred wheel spacers...
Also note in the image the Brand New Stainless Steel Race Exhaust, fully repainted heat shield, cleaned & painted wheelarch liners plus a cleaned, treated, then painted subframe 
& suspension components...

Originally Our Indi Blue was spec'd with 15" 8 spoke alloys, but We felt they didn't quite 'Cut the Mustard'...

The Addition of 17" OEM Bullet Alloys...

Sporty 5 spokes were purchased. Although in need of a refurbishment which We carried out in-house, they did have the added benefit of 4 matching tyres with great tread...Part 1 of the exterior enhancements was underway..!!

As with all of Our Builds, there are new track rod ends, outer ball joints, wheel bearings, brake discs, pads & caliper springs plus the glorious German Manufactured, TA Technix height adjustable coilovers. The calipers are also  freshly painted in a matching Racing Red, whilst the wheel arch liners & suspension components are painted Satin Black...

The end of 2021 saw Us hop up to the next stage in the MINI hierarchy by purchasing this stunning Hyper Blue R53...
Bought locally, this 3 Owner vehicle was in outstanding condition for its age & has a good Factory spec. The interior is 'timewarp' showing no signs of wear - not really any signs of use..!!
Glorious Factory black 'Soft Upgrade' leather (£800 option, in its day...), Factory armrest, multi-function steering wheel, air-con, traction control & even the Original stereo..!!

Change of Plans... Back to Racing for The Boss!

Reborn...

Initially and after much deliberation & huge enjoyment through testing - changing Our mind several times - We originally  decided that this was such a fantastic representation of a Facelift R53, in a colour & pre-restoration condition that is becoming rare, We should return Our Hyper Blue 'S' back to stock for a New Custodian 'to carry on where We left off' ...
Or so we thought...!!
With the Boss having not Raced for just under 30 years, He has decided to hop back into it, joining in the 'Classic Sports Car Clubs' - CSCC - Turbo Tin Tops Series as we have numerous Pals already Racing in this fantastic, Gentlemanly Series. Therefore, HRRCC will be building their first MINI Racecar for 32 years, adhering to the regulations set by the CSCC, thus turning this 'Supercharged Screamer' into a fully kitted out Race Spec R53 for seasons to come...
Progress is slow and steady at present due to Client Commitments and The Building of the inaugural  'First Edition' R50, however we aim to be testing early 2024..!!

A Great Factory Example

Our Hyper Blue R53 Cooper S  was very honest when it was purchased by Us, however, in the name of preventative mechanics, We've replaced several key components to hopefully avoid any disruption to Our Motoring pleasure...This has resulted in a very well presented  & 'sound'  car to move forward with & enjoy. The  Interior can only be described as 'fresh off the production line' whilst the exterior is very, very presentable & smart, with a lovely road presence...

HRRCC #4 - 2005/'05 Reg  British Racing Green & Black/Black...

Chosen purely because of its stunning Factory Body Colour, this Cooper derived HRRCC R50 has undergone a very thorough refresh & refurbish underneath, inside, outside, at each corner & in the engine bay...A complete transformation from the 100% Stock, 3 Owner BRG R50 with 16" wheels & cloth interior...this particular MINI didn't even have a Factory boot spoiler...but it did have an Electric Full Panoramic Slide & Tilt Sunroof.

The Nuts & Bolts Process

Full Strip Down...

The easiest way to work is to not have obstacles..!!
As We were replacing the clutch, we got deeper into the engine bay than normal, with many advantages to be had...once the gearbox was out of the way, we could clean & protect the steering rack, check pipes &  connectors, lower arms & ball joints much easier & as the driveshafts were out We replaced the inner & outer cv boots as another precautionary measure...

Brand New Wheel Bearings

As with all of Our Builds, whilst We are at each corner replacing discs & pads, it makes sense to just strip back that little bit further & replace the wheel bearings.
On this particular MINI, they didn't necessarily need replacing as the was no movement, grind or hum, however We couldn't determine when they had last been replaced, so it makes sense to put new on so that We know that they're good for around 30k miles, just like the  brake discs...Happy Days...

5 Speed Getrag Gearbox

Such is Our manner, the gearbox was fully cleaned & painted, with New Main seal & driveshafts seals prior to the refit... 

An Unused Toolkit Speaks Volumes...


When purchasing a 'Base Vehicle' there are many little details that You need to look for & the condition of the toolkit is one of them...they truly can tell a story of the sort of life a vehicle has lived....It will either tell You that the its been a nightmare, been covered by a Recovery Business, the Owners have been hands on themselves...or possibly in this case its been trouble-free...Needless to say, HRRCC #4 has a toolkit in great condition...make of that what You will...

Lots of New Parts...

Along with the cleaned, dried, treated, painted & Waxoyl coated undercarriage, there are freshly painted heat shields, full mild steel, 10 year guarantee sports exhaust with Brand New rubber mounts, Stainless Steel fixings & colour coded centre plate...
After 16 years of use, any vehicles undercarriage would be showing signs of age...these glorious MINI's are no exception.
Now, following our extensive program, HRRCC #4 should only need Annual 'top up ' to keep the deterioration at bay &prolonging the life of this little gem...

Extra Details...

Along with all the usual HRRCC interior refinements, Our Upholstery Department  have really gone 'To town' on  HRRCC #4, adding a matching Ruby Red piping at the lower part of the recovered Alcantara a, b & c pillars, amongst others...It's only a small detail, but really does add that 'subtle splash' of contrasting colour, whilst seperating the pillar & lower panels...

Sporty, Stylish & Purposeful...

Carbon Fibre wrapped dash fascia & mirror switch, Upgraded HRRCC Emblem dial faces, Handmade & engraved gearstick top, Alcantara, red  double stitched downtubes, gearstick & handbrake gaiters...half leather Sports Seats so that You don't slide around fast corners...it's 'Bespoke in Abundance'...

'Vengeance Red' Roof Wrap...

To add a bit of spice to the exterior of Our BRG Belter, We had Our usual vinyl & wrap Guys, Pro-Vinyl Ltd. in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, to supply & fit this divine Metallic roof & door mirror wrap for Us...
Its now become one of the talking points of the Build, with the majority of onlookers absolutely adoring the effect...it certainly packs a punch!!
We also fitted an R53 Cooper S boot spoiler, with a red trim after the top of the bootlid was wrapped, finishing off the lines fantastically...

Example...



Our latest addition to the HRRCC Builds. This stunning, 1 previous owner, Sytner of Nottingham Supplied, Pure Silver R50 Cooper. This particular vehicle was originally spec'd from factory with; Body Coloured Roof, Cooper S 17" Wheels, Cooper S Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Traction Control, Air-Conditioning, Chilli Pack and Chrome Exterior Package. The original owner also orderd the extra option of a Dealer Fitted Full Aero Kit including Boot Spoiler and 3 Piece Front Grilles. What a fantastic 'From New' Motor Car..!!Our plans are to restore this R50 'as is' factory car with a few 'HRRCC' Touches. We have decided that this little belter will be the Inaugural Vehicle for our 'First Edition' Series which will feature a Bespoke Engine Plaque, 'First Edition' Door Sill Gel Kick Plates, a Bespoke Handmade Turned Aluminum and Engraved Gear Stick Top Plus 'HRRCC' Dials...
